Ten friends, a folding table, and a $500 goal.
Ella Winters & Ava Winters
In the spring of 2024, Ella Winters was diagnosed with Lymphoma. During her chemotherapy treatments, Ella and her family were met with extraordinary kindness and care from the organizations that supported them.
Her sister Ava wanted to give some of that back. So Ava and nine of her friends from the West De Pere area set up a lemonade stand — a way to say thank you to the people and causes that had shown up for their family.
As the girls' passion for making a difference grew, so did the idea. What started as a folding table on the sidewalk became the Lemon Market.
The inaugural 2024 event raised $14,333 — far outpacing the girls' initial goal of $500.
